Join us on Wednesday, May 24th with Sharon Finston and Carolyn Latham, a mother-daughter duo who come from a family of endurance horseback riders. Their family has an impressive history – they boast four generations of Tevis Cup finishers, with Sharon in the third generation and Carolyn in the fourth, making a total of 13 family members. The Tevis Cup, aka the Western States Trail Ride, is the race that sparked the start of the Western States Endurance Run. In 1974, Gordy Ainsleigh was slated to ride his horse in the Tevis, but his horse came up lame just before the race. Gordy decided to run alongside the horses instead…and the rest is history.
