Get to Know SFRC Team Member Mecque Tucker

Hometown: Walla Walla County, WA

Occupation: General Manager @ SFRC, Swiss Army Knife; Former HOKA sales rep, Former New Balance tech rep; 12+ years experience in the running industry (I can’t believe it’s been that long!).

What is your favorite food/dish after a run: I’m a carnivore, so I treat myself to a nice prime rib dinner. You can find me in the city at The Brazen Head, Izzy’s or House of Prime Rib post-race.

What are the top 5 songs on your playlist: Levitating: Dua Lipa, Motivation: Kelly Rowland, Tempo: Lizzo, Blame it on the POP: DJ Earworm 2009 mashup.

Favorite movies: “You’re terrible, Muriel” – Muriel’s Wedding, Iron Man, Captain America: Civil War, Thor: Ragnarok.

Hobbies besides running: Cuddling with Beanie & the Jet on the sofa (her two pups that you may see at the shop), binge watching Marvel movies.

What is your favorite vacation spot: Ooooo… too many to pick from: Pismo Beach, Monte Rio, Lodi (yes, Lodi!).

What is your favorite quote: “I’m kind of a big deal. People know me.”

What’s your favorite way to unwind: Salt Point Greyhound, sitting on the sofa with the dogs.

What causes are you passionate about: Women’s rights are human rights – I am saddened by the recent SCOTUS ruling and thankful that California is a sanctuary state for women seeking reproductive freedom.

What’s something we would never guess about you: I’m kind of an open book, I don’t have many secrets.

What is your favorite running trail: Going down Old Springs trail, but I dread going up Marincello or Miwok to get there.

What is your favorite race: IPA 10k in Sebastopol – 6 miles followed by a beer garden, need I say more?

What advice would you give to a new ultra runner: HA! Total poser over here, my longest race is the North Face Endurance Race Marathon in 2015. Just put one foot in front other and make sure you use the outhouse before you start.

Any races on your bucket list: None at this time, but I’m looking forward to the inaugural Salomon WMN’s 1/2 Marathon this fall!
